Hi.

I’m Christine Speer Lejeune, a freelance editor and writer. The vast majority of my work has been in magazine journalism, where I’ve been lucky enough to work on all kinds of stories for a number of different publications, but I’ve leaned hardest into longform reported essays, culture and trend reporting, and service journalism. I’ve spent roughly 20 years working for city-regional magazines, including the award-winning Philadelphia magazine, where I am currently an editor at large. I’m also an adjunct professor of magazine writing at Temple University.

Beyond that? I’m a Tennessee native who went to school in the Midwest (earning a journalism degree from Indiana University and a master’s degree in social sciences from University of Chicago) before landing in Philly, where I live with my husband, two (mostly) lovely children and a fish named Sushi.
